The Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Disabled Persons came into effect on May 15, 1991, and the “National Day for the Disabled” began in 1991. Every year, the whole country carries out “Helping the Disabled Day” activities.
Today, May 15, 2022, is the 32nd National Day of Helping the Disabled. The theme of this year’s National Day for the Disabled is “Promoting the Employment of Disabled Persons and Protecting the Rights and Interests of Disabled Persons”.
On May 12, the State Council’s Working Committee for Disabled Persons and 13 departments including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the China Disabled Persons’ Federation issued a notice, requiring all localities and relevant departments to do a good job of normalizing epidemic prevention and control under the premise. , and take practical and effective measures to organize and carry out a variety of activities for the disabled day. On May 13, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate and the China Disabled Persons’ Federation jointly released 10 typical cases of procuratorial public interest litigation for the protection of the rights and interests of persons with disabilities, summarizing and promoting the typical experience of public interest litigation in the procuratorial public interest protection of the rights and interests of persons with disabilities in various places, in order to safeguard the equal rights of the disabled, Promoting the all-round development of persons with disabilities provides strong legal guarantees.
